Independent Rear Suspension

The 2017 Ford Mustang features an integral link independent rear suspension that helps minimize body roll and isolate road imperfections for a responsive ride and precise handling. Aluminum-alloy rear knuckles and H-arms help reduce unsprung mass. So Mustang has twice as much anti-squat and nearly 10 times the amount of anti-lift for better pitch control during hard acceleration and braking compared with the previous generation.

Front Suspension

The double ball joint front suspension provides high-performance driving dynamics, allowing for larger brakes than the previous generation without excessive wheel offsets that would affect steering feel.

MagneRide® Damping System

Performance runs in our family. So it’s no wonder we borrowed the MagneRide Damping System you’ll find in the Shelby GT350® , improved upon it and tuned it specifically for the 2018 Mustang. This system provides lightning-quick responsiveness to changing road conditions. How quick? We’re talking 1,000 times per second. That’s how fast each damper adjusts automatically, and it’s the reason you can count on optimum handling performance.
